Heartbeat entered 2008 with a few changes in the cast. PC Bellamy (Mark Jordon), Rosie Cartwright (Vanessa Hehir), And PC Rob Walker (Jonathan Kerrigan) had all left. New to the cast are PC Joe Mason (Joe McFadden) PC Don Wetherby (Rupert Ward-Lewis) and Dawn Bellamy (Nikki Sanderson).
